In many cases your insurance company will pay a portion of my fee even if I’m not in their network.  As a service to you, I will bill your insurance company for you.

Insurance vs. Private Pay

There are some drawback to using your insurance to pay for therapy.  Many insurance companies limit the number of visits they allow.  Some people are concerned about how well insurance companies safeguard the confidentiality of information submitted to them for reimbursement purposes. Therefore, you may prefer to pay directly for your therapy. You may be able to deduct the cost of your therapy as a medical expense on your income tax return; check with your accountant. Also, some employers offer programs that allow you to set aside a certain portion of your salary for psychological and medical services.
